The five different types of jumped in Ballet

Saute:
Any movement that is preformed while jumping. Leaving the ground with both feet and landing with both feet at the same time. The tips of the toes should be first to reach the ground after the jump.

Temps lève:
Raised movement. A hop on one foot landing on the same foot with the other foot raised in any position.

Jete:
Throwing step. A leap forward from one foot to the other. Can be preformed grand, pas, petit by lifting the legs at the desired degree and hight.

Sissonne:
A jump from both feet onto one foot. Can be preformed grand or petit. Named after the originator of the step.

Assemblè: joined together
A step in which the working foot slides well along the ground before being swept into the air. As the foot goes into the air the dancer pushes off the floor with the supporting leg. Both legs come to the ground at the same time.
